Here are some of the frequently asked questions from people entering the Aquarium & Attractions.

What price is it ?
We have one price for all of just £5.80 per person. Children aged 4 and under are free.

Do you accept card payments ?
Yes, from Monday 15th April 2024 we will become a CASHLESS attraction, meaning we will no longer accept cash payments. We do accept all major credit and debit cards, contacless, apple and google pay.

Are there any toilets ?
We do not have any public toilets or baby changing facilities. There are toilets located at the northern end of the village, by the pedestrian lights, on the river side of the road, a short walk from the car park.

Can we feed the fish ?
Yes the Carp in the Thermal Pool can be fed with food available to purchase from the pool side vending machines. This forms part of a controlled and balanced diet. Any other food forms are strictly forbidden to ensure the health of the fish.

How long does it take to see ?
Most people take about 45 minutes to go around all the Exhibitions, but you can spend more or less time depending on your interests.

Can we take pushchairs into the Attractions ?
No pushchairs are allowed in the Aquarium, however we have a limited storage area for storing pushchairs whilst you visit the Aquarium. Our staff will advise you about this as you enter.

Dogs are welcome providing they are kept on a lead at all times.

Do we have a concession rate for OAP's or Carers ?
No our entrance fee is the same for everyone.

Are dogs allowed ?
Yes dogs on a lead are welcome.

Can we take photographs ?
Yes, there is no restriction on photography in any of the Exhibitions.

Can we take food or drinks in with us ?
No food, drinks or ice cream are allowed.

Do you have wheelchair access ?
No, due to age and nature of the building we are unable to offer wheelchair access, however for those customers who are able to manage the stairs we can still offer to carry your wheelchair to the top of the entrance stairs for you to use the wheelchair during your visit.

Do you have a cafe ?
No, there are numerous eating establishments in Matlock Bath offering a wide selection of food & drink.

Is there any discount for larger groups ?
Yes, groups of 20 or more are given a discounted price of £5.30 per person. Rates for School parties etc can be found on our 'Educational' page.

Do you rehome unwanted fish ?
